Hi guys! I'm wondering what the largest Mondeo from brakes are that I can use under 15" wheels, I don't want to go larger! Also just curiosity what will fit under standard Si 14" wheels? Thanks in advance! |

300mm if you shave the caliper. |

i can sort you out 300mm's to fit under most 15'' wheels or 280mm is the most common |

How much of a shave?! That's good news though, I thought 300's required 16's! I have a set of st170 drilled and grooved discs, I'm sure they are 300mm!! |

yes mate st170's are 300mm the shave will depend on the wheel i have a jig setup to shave the calipers down to fit behind fiesta zetec s mk5 , escort gti and puma alloys you may need to run a spacer aswell ive just put up a set of 280mm brakes for sale and i also sell the calipers on there own |

for the gti alloys you only need a 3mm spacer |

its just to give you a bit extra clearance for the calipers |

For 15's get the ST24 brake setup. Kinda scary when you also use the mondeo servo and master cylinder. |

mondeo wise the ST24 uses a 280mm discs single pot set up, its not as large of a piston as the cossie ones but a great upgrade non the less the standard 1.8/2.0's use 260mm single pot set up but again the piston isnt as big as the better RS2000 escort 260mm set up the 26-'s will fit snug behind standard 14" wheels, i know i use them myself (Rs2k +Si standard wheels) heres 260's behind 15" wheels, about hand an inch gap ![]() ![]() and 260's behind 14" 16v wheels ![]() ![]() ![]() other options which guys above has stated, 300mm set up made cheap would to use mk3 mondeo calipers with ST170 discs personally, id go for upgraded servo and braided steel lines first as it makes the standard brakes perform far better and you will see a big improvement if you then went for bigger brakes after |

wouldnt even bother with the servo upgrade lol, the standard 240mm setup with braided hoses, good pads grooved discs and fresh fluid is more than good enough for the little fiesta unless your running high-ish bhp on another note, the 300mm st170 setup does fit under some 15" wheels without shaving the caliper |

I'm currently using mk1 V6 mondeo calipers with 278mm discs, I'm using the mk1 mondeo calipers as the pads are wider than the mk2 v6 mondeo pads, with this setup you have to use 3mm disc spacers (spacers between the hub and the disc, not the disc and the wheel, you can buy these from puma speed) and these are more than capable of stopping a mk3 fiesta with no other brake upgrades, they also have a 60mm diameter single piston which I believe is the same as cossie calipers |

the mondeo mk1 v6 are the same as the cossie calipers its the carriers that are different the cossie ones have a casting number on the caliper of 887 and 888 which the mondeo ones have aswell |

i thought that was the case, when i was doing it last year no one seems to know, could i use cossie discs inplace of the v6 mondeo discs and do away with the 3mm spacer? |

So really I want 260mm set up to go under 14"wheels! I have a 300mm set up sitting but I just don't want to go to 15" wheels.14"wheels and tyres are so much more plentiful and cheaper! This is a budget build I'm trying to do best as possible! |
