your local halfords can make you a square plate that is road legal, the screw holes you drill yourself and the screws will be in the top corners of the plate and will fit the original screw holes, i know as i tried it on my fiesta when i used to work at halfords a few years ago |

Ahh i see, well personally I dont think it suits an Si much, if anything, a smaller one will suit it better, thats my personal opinion though ![]() |

Can you buy number plates online these days, thought you had to prove the reg is yours. |

Yeah many companies still do it online |

Post subject: | Re: jap style front reg plate |
if they sell them as show plates you dont have to prove anything, the plates have to have the postcode of where they were made on them aswell otherwise there technically illegal |

Post subject: | Re: jap style front reg plate |

Post subject: | Re: jap style front reg plate |
you can still get 1 mate as most police dont really take notice of that, there more botherd about dodgy fonts and incorrect spacing |

mot wise it needs to have a postcode on it, the british standards number (bsau 145d) in the bottom right corner, halfords do fully road legal plates but you can barly see these marking from the colour of the sticker they use |

Where are you going to put it ? ![]() Imo the numberplate looks right where it is due to the fogs and the placement of it, if you start putting a square on in the corner or something it'll look silly ![]() |

I prefer original but square dont look to bad, when I got my si it had a small plate on front at the lowest part of the bumper. |

I had to get mine made up at a graphics place, as I wanted the rear reg plate to fill the entire recess, and all the reg sizes here from legit places wouldn't do that. So got the front one done at the same time. Neither of them have the postcode on them, and always pass MOT's, and I've never been pulled, or had it mentioned the time I was pulled for something else... ![]() It just isn't a worry for them at the mo ![]() Jap style ftw ![]() ![]() |

Slim import style ftw imo. Might get one made for the front on the fez. Its only a legal requirement from like 2009 for plates made that point onwards to come with the details on them. But if you get 'show' plates, they dont usually put them on, but if they do its so small you wont notice it. |

search for "fiesta si 2.0" on ebay, that fiesta has a jap front plate and looks pretty smart |

That looks smart actually. I've only seen a jap style plate on a Si before that had it to the side... and tbh it looked sh?t. But in the normal place it looks smart |
