does it really foul the bulkhead? my escort gti engine in my fiesta xr2i has cleared it easy!!! gti escorts are the same internal edis and external pats, just need the chip in the key to swap over thats it. and i think the ecu is plug and play. may have to do some research though and investigate what wires go into each loom. you could also add 2.0 upgrades on the gti engine like the throttle body, cams, fuel injectors, ecu (everyone knows that plug and play on an si loom), and the maf and you can easy have near the 130 bhp mark, its been proven and tested! basically all you need to know is that all silvertop zetec engines are exactly the same including bolt holes etc, just internal size is different so everything will swap over including all your mounts, ancillaries etc. but whilst you have the engine out matey i highly advise changing the water pump and cambelt kit, clutch kit and possibly the 2.0 upgrade kits if you want some 2.0 upgrade parts i have the 2.0 camshafts, throttle body, and gti fuel rail with the later 2.0 brown injectors in them. pm me if you want and if you want some pics of how my engine looks like in my fiesta |

Thank's for the help I was gonna do quite a bit to the engine before I put it in to the car first. What you were saying with the loom would i need to swap it over or could I use the old one and would I need the chip out of the gti key or is it just plug and play? |

you can use the standard si loom as its all the same really but the inlet manifold loom you will need to rewire though as the air temperature sensor plug is different |

yes you will need it if you going to use the gti ecu, if you use a 2.0 ecu you won't need is as long as it doesn't have the pats |

Don't mean to rape this topic, but the best cams for a n/a silvertop 2.0 are the ST170 ones right? |

i've already enquired about that they won't fit in different setups in the silvertop and blacktop/st170 head. they would fit in a blacktop i think |

Damn, i guess the RS1800/Standard 2.0 ones are best then... unless i opt for some aftermarket ones ![]() |

4-2-1 exhaust manifold, best upgrade for any zetec engine, frees the revs up alot more with decat, but get make one like a stainless steel one, a 2.5inch diameter exhaust system, decat but make it a bolt on option so you can keep the cat for the law abiding folk that we are ahem. 2.0 cams, 2.0 throttle body, theres some people that can bore and polish these throttle bodies on ebay etc this will improve throttle response and allow air to flow better, if you combine the 2.0 cams and throttle body as i said above with the fuel injectors, ecu and maf then you can get up to and maybe more than 130bhp. depending how good the engine is. that alone is enough for a fiesta for now. till you'll be wanting more and more lol oh for air filter options either the standard panel filter box with a k&n panel filter and a redirected cold air feed or a fully sheilded induction kit like the viper kit from pipercross or the bmc cda carbon induction kit are the best options. normal filters get dirty quick as they are not covered. higher tuning options are the likes of bike carbs or tb's. or jenvey/omex throttle body systems, and the turbo'd options, yes you can turbo a 1.8 using the right stuff. |
