Hello all, im quite new here and would like to say hello to all. Apologies if this post is in the wrong place.

I have just bought a mint 1.6 si for £200 71000 on the clock never been welded its mint :)

Have been reading throught loads of post on here and am still at a loss..

I want to put a 2l into him and make him really fast

Problems so far 2l silver tops are rare, deep desk a dewys are even rarer,

Have looked for the last month with no success

Im good with spanners but not a god

anybody have any ideas of what engine? Needs to be easy ish swap i have a budget of 600 max

Any help would be massively appreciated

my advice would be to buy a mondeo with 2litre engine and try and get one with the correct ecu (loads of em cheap enough)
if you cant find one with the right ecu you can source a brand new one for round 100 notes

personally i'd try places like 247spares and breaker websites for the ECU.... you have to be explicit in what your asking for and always 're-confirm' over the phone though.
...I'd also try them for the engine too!

There is a 2litre engine complete with RS1800 gearbox taken out of a fiesta Si on ebay starting at 99p may be worth contacting him see what we would take, comes with the stuff ready to fit can't post a link but search under 2.0 zetec xr2i gearbox

It was from Norway brand new :)

try escort forums. I found 2 for sale within a day as the escorts can have the same mod as the fiesta engine wise.

DEEP DESK or DEWY as they are the only non PATS ECU (manual) I think it's EARS for auto.
I know someone selling a ECU will check and see if he still has it as that was the other one I qas going to buy.
