I have a 1.6 Si Can Anyone shed some info to me about what options are available for upgrading the standard brakes?

i think st150 brakes will fit straight under 15s but not 100% sure Lots of options tho Mondeo st24 St150 Plus more but not sure which ones lol |

A few Then  Im basically looking for summat that would fit without any modifying...I did just look on a couple of posts and alot of ppl are using st150 brake setups but knowone explains if you have to adapt them in any way :/

The cheapest and best option - which i have, is the mondeo mk3 calipers and pads, with ST170 disks (300mm) They are direct bolt on, and all you need to modify is the mounting holes for the caliper, you just have to bore it out a bit more so it will accept a 2mm bigger bolt However, minimum wheel size is 16", unless you grind the caliper Big G will make you a setup: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=20723 |

Ahaaaa Nice one I'll check it out.... Did you notice a big improvement? i currently have 15's on there but by the time its back on the road im hoping it will be different!

ST150 setup is a direct bolt in and will fit under 15's (some designs of wheel might be a problem). I had them on my 2.0 and they worked very well, will get a picture up when I get home. |

I've got a 150 setup to go on the rear of my car actually hehe, just waiting to get the calipers powdercoated  Make sure you change your master cylinder when you get big brakes mate, otherwise when you press your brake pedal it will be very spongy. Mondeo mk2 one is the easiest to do as it is bolt on, you just need to bore the mounting holes again and get the connectors at the end of your brake pipes changed from 10mm to 13mm. There is the Escort mk5 option, but that means welding parts, which can be dangerous if you're not very good at welding. |

I didnt realise parts through ford were so interchangeable... I think im def going with the st150 set up now after looking into it further....But what sites or places might i find them.....had a browse through ebay and nothing...

Yeah i was going to get a ST150 setup on the front once, i couldn't find them anywhere because they are too new. I joined a fiesta ST forum for a while and a few people said they would sell me theirs used for about £200 - which is a good price. But they never got back to me so i just went round the mondeo mk3 route. And on ebay they wanted about £80 just for 1 caliper! |

The ST150 setup does appear, you do get people upgrading the brakes on ST etc. It might be worth saving an ebay search so it e-mails if anything comes up. |
