Has anyone ever grinded or cut their rear arches back? Because i'm lead to beleive that if i do it will separate the inner and outer arch ![]() The thing is, my wheels scrape on my arches when i go over bumps and whatnot, and i know you can bend them back, but mine are starting to bubble. And i don't want to leave that untreated and then bend them. So my original intentions were to cut off the lip, back to the arch and then underseal the f?ck out of it. But i have since been told that it would make the car fall apart haha. :S |

I would roll them back, cutting them will just expose metal and will rust and slowly get worse. I rolled mine on my old fiesta and had no problem, infact I done it with a rubber mallet lol. If your worries about cracking paint, head the arches up. But as you said its bubbling, why not just sand them back, roll them and then paint them? Will be the best thing for it! ![]() |

I was thinking cut them off, attack with underseal? Or would that still rust :S |

that would probably still rust, as above use a rubber mallet use some tiger seal or some other decent seam sealer where the arch lip meets the wing on the inside and then use underseal and then stonechip protect it problem solved! |

Ok. New plan then, grind arch and lip down to bare metal to get rid of bubbles, rust prevent it, bend lip back, seam seal it, underseal it, stonechip preventer, put xr/rs kit on, job done? ![]() |

Easiest way is with a hair dryer, just get the paint nice and warm. All it does it soften it up a bit, which prevents it cracking ![]() ![]() |

When I done the arches on my old car, I didnt heat the paint up - but it was a warm day, so that helped ![]() |
