Hey,

I've bought everything up to primer for my wheel refurb and was wondering if anyone could help me with my first step.. As its the only one when I think about it properly I don't quite understand!

I have some P40 metal filler, I understand you mix it up 1 golf ball size to a pea size of hardener.

So I need to sand down the wheel first? and basically what I want is all the kerb marks on the rim filled.

How do I go about this? just sort of get bits on it the spreader and spead it on the rim? kind of try to shape it as well? then once its hardened sand it lightly to get the shape? Thats the only logical way I can think of doing it.

Any experience or ideas please

i would use a orbital sander with 80grit discs and just keep sanding away at the kerbs till they are gone. i've done it many times on wheels when refurbing them and i have used minimal filler on kerbing!! its only metal so kerbing can easily go away!!

:lol fair enough, I have a sander but its not orbital so hands will be used.. :(

Just thought that maybe you needed some of that rim for the tyre to get onto the alloy?
