iirc series 2 silver top zetec engine had the sticky valve issue sorted out
, series 1 and 2 are pretty much the same, series 1 engine will be fine to use, just use the correct grade oil 5/30w

will the 2.0ltr from a mk2 mondeo fit in my fiesta coz im struggling to high heaven trying to find a s1 silvertop engine its the only thing thats holding me nack from getting work started on my project car :/ cheers |

Aren't the s2's better engines (slight change in the valves or something), I believe its the s3's (blacktops) which are a problem to fit but the s1/2 are the same. Wait for somebody else to confirm this as I am not 100% but pretty sure. |

Yeah as long as it's the silvertop it's fine. As Percy said the s2 is better so ford changed some parts around to make it more reliable than the mk1. It's the mk3 you want to avoid for ease of use but there's a thread on the guides page that shows you how to make that transplant as well it's just more time consuming. The silvertops just fit straight in. |
