Hi, got the 1.6 si and am looking to upgrade to the 2lt. I was gonna wait for a while and find a low mileage silvertop. Here's my problem my grandad is getting rid of his R reg mondeo (is this the right type of engine for the swap?)

This mondeo has done about 150,000 miles and we're not sure of it's service history but seems nice enough to drive. So that's 1 issue.

I was thinking of taking the brakes as well and sort out the spacers.

Only have tonight to decide as he is gonna give it as part exchange tomorrow on his new car, the exchange is only £60 so it's all really cheap buy with high mileage and extra work on brakes is it worth it????? Please help

I think R was Silver but i'm not sure

Yeah then it is the right engine for the conversion

If you know it's solid then i don't see why you souldn't use it. Expecially as you are only going to get £60 for it

Pain in the ass didn't work. My grandad had agreed with the guy and he wouldn't agree to let me pay the difference... What a dick lol. Oh well I'll have to keep looking for that engine
