just wanting to know what i will need to complete this conversion ive been given a 2.0 zetec engine an rs1800 head loom and ecu also after a set off bodies and ecu if anyone knows where theres some at a good price thanks

to be fair, your better off finding a 1.6 to do the conversion on, as they are both zetecs therefore share the same mounts etc. im sure somebody can point you in the right direction for the bits though :D

welcome to fsi :thumbsup:

i presume by you saying its a 16v that its a MK4 Fiesta you have?

if so your best route to go down is to drop a puma engine in, the puma conversion is the conversion to do to the MK4/MK5 Fiesta's much like dropping a 2.0 in is the conversion to do to the 1.6 16v Si's :thumbsup:

the 1.4 8v Si's easiest conversion option is to drop a Fiesta RS Turbo in :devil: :D

as said mate youve got a 98 fiesta si. the easiest option n cheapest is to drop the 1.7 puma lump in. ther 130 bhp too iirc :thumbsup:
is the 2litre you got a silvertop or blacktop? maybe sell it on here to fund your project?

im gonna stick with the 2.0 i know its a ball ache but will be worth the hassle once its supercharged

imo i think it wud be alot of money for not alot of gain. there is loads of fabrication work invloved in puttin the 2litre in a mk4
check pumabuild site n pumaspeed to see wot can be had from the 1.7 motor. plus the 1.7 revs very nice
honestly mate use the puma lump then charge that or summat summat

im looking at doing a puma converison on a mk5 1.25 fiesta just wondering if theres anything that i should know or make sure i get like uprated brakes suspension ecu things like dat, and how hard is it to do the conversion??

The trouble with fitting a S1/S2 (Silvertop) Zetec to a MK4/5 is that you'd have to change almost everything like the mountings, loom, gearbox etc.

MK4/5 Fiesta's use the Zetec s (Blacktop/Pumaspeed) engine, so it's best to go for one of those variants because it is a straight swap.
Likewise with a Fiesta MK3/.5 16v it's easiest to use a S1/2 engine because the mounts/ loom are the same.
And as onslack said, if you have a CVH engine and you want to swap, best bet is a RSTurbo engine.
Not sure on S3 Zetecs on how hard they are to fit to a MK4/5 but i have seen it done before.

But if you are good at butchering and you have all the tools and experience, then i say why not.
It will be something different. And we can help when you get stuck :)

It was more of a guide rather than a comment lol.

There are many options to brake upgrades, the cheapest for your car would be the Zetec-Sport setup.
And the best for a reasonable amount of money is the ST150 setup.

I'm not entirely sure about the puma conversion, but for Zetec s as they are the same engine i can't see why it wouldn't be a straight swap
