Ok guys I've recently bought an N reg 5 door fiesta 1.6 si and wondered what I should do to it. I've never done up a car and am a bit of a mechanical novice but a friend of mine knows what hes talking about. I've read around the other pages and figured I really want to get a 2 ltr conversion along with lowered springs and other things. I've already got some better brakes from an XR2i and will fit them asap.

Regarding the exterior I wanted to fit the XR2 arches, skirts and possibly rear bumper to add a little more bulk the car but I've realised as its the 5 door I may struggle to get it to fit properly.

Does anyone have any advice on what I should be doing first? Also What springs I should be using to lower it (will they need to be a certain spec to cope when the 2ltr goes in?) Any advice is welcome :)

yes not shure but i think you will have a problem with xr2 arches as they follow the wheel arche all the way down to the skirts and the rear door on 5 door the arche is cut short and the Swage line of the arche is on the rear door

Brakes, there the same as the xr2i ones so don't bother!

Springs, personally i would start with these, standard lowering ones are fine! 2.0 engine weighs no more than the 1.6.

If you want to do a 2.0 conversion, its pretty simple if your mate knows what hes doing. Have a look in the guides section. To much to explain here!

if you are going to up the brakes i woul go for the st150 ones. i got them on mine for when i do my 2 ltr conv. in a few weeks time :). they pull up really good and notice a massive difference wth them on.

yeah the springs will be the best place to start from. get it sitting how you want first then brakes then the big 2 ltr jump. it is really simple to do you can do it in a weekend with a few mates and a set of spanners and a socket set.

XR2i brakes are the same as the 16v Si's So the best one is ST150. And then there is the ST24 but that requires modification but is cheaper
But yeah mate, in my opinion you should slam it! Like 60mm drop - 5 door fezzys look best that way

And yeah 2.0 is the craze lol
As for fitting XR/RS arches to a 5 door it is difficult and it requires filling. I know of a guide though:

Cheers thats saved me a bit of work, does anyone know any ST150's going at the moment? got a lot of time on my hands at the moment so trying to get as much done as fast as i can before i get busy again.

Is there anything I can save from the XR2? The rust was too much on it but everything else works. Originally the breaks and kit were all i was thinking of using but as you have all said its gonna be either pointless or not really worth the hassle so is there anything else worth keeping.
