hey guys im not to sure on things about engine changing etc so hopefully some of u can help me out.
my tiny little 1.1 fiesta well lets just say it has a hamster in wheel for an engine and i want to keep insurance low as this is my 1st car and will be my 1st year driving so i was thinking of getting a 1.3 fiesta mk5 engine or suming like that will it be compatible and what will i need to do. a few of u may say keep it for now as it is then next year get a 1.6 or bigger but thats defo future plans.

anything is possible with money and time

the issue you'll have with using an engine from a MK5 is the engine mounts will be different so you'd need too get some fabricated into your fez too get it too fit

then you'll have too looking into either swaping the interios loom over or splicing the MK5 engine loom so it works with the MK3 fez interior loom

you thought about getting a 1.3 cvh/pte/what ever the engine is called? from another MK3, i think the mounts might be similar too what you've got now

the engine loom should be a plug and plat effort with the interior loom

but i'm not very clued up on all this stuff really so hopefully someone can give you more info :red:

if you gonna go for an engine change but keep your car go for a 1.6 zetec or cvh from the mk3 range, probably wont be too hard to put in then.

i would look into the insruance first as any engine change will bump up your insurance
might be worth keeping it for a year or two building up some no claims and getting a bigger engined car

The 1.3's arent much of an upgrade TBH

Your 1.1, depending what carb is on it, an upgrade would be the twin webber carb, which would make it ever so slightly better
