welcome too fsi darren, hope you enjoy your stay ![]() i've not really go any experience with either bike carbs or TB's, but for an emissions point of view i'd stick with Bike TB's your best off pm'ing sk8xtrm on here as he did a TB conversion too his fez a while back and had it running on standard mangement or pm will121 i also think he's using TB's/carbs(cant remember which) on standard management, both the guys above had to make an enclosure over the TB's/carbs and use a maf sensor will did a guide, i'll dig it out for you edit:- here it is viewtopic.php?f=16&t=17588 but to get the most out of the setup i'd got for aftermarket management ![]() |

Hi, glad to hear you are enjoying the Si think it depends on what you want to achieve and how much you want to spend, ive done motorbike carbs on a 1600 CVH engine, and done some for a 2litre zetec works well but only issue is running carbs with a CAT doesnt really work, option with swapping it all back to injection just for MoT though as for throttle bodies on standard ECU i done a basic guide as highlighted above, it works and produces an extra 10bhp and breaths/rev's a lot better. cost me about £200 to do with 149bhp. to get the most from throttle bodies requires a programmable ECU then you can do away with the MAF which with other mods is what im currently doing they are anything from £300 megasquirt to £650 emerald/Omex ECU this should see upto 160bhp with ported head and decent cam's im hoping for 175-180bhp ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If you got CARBs I have a set of bike carbs which have been used a few times with users on the mk2 xr2 forums with 2.0ltr zetecs. they are 38.5mm I think. All you need is to sort the fuel pressure with a bike pump and not the in tank pump, and use a wiring loom from a 1.3 for ignition ![]() |

yeah this has a coil pack so dont know how that would work with the carbs its all EFI just now to, cos if i put the carbs on it and removed the ECU and injectors MAF so on she wouldnt fire, is there a way around this? |

you couldnt use the orignal EFI ECu just for spark, but believe the 1.1/1.3 has a separate ignition only module indepandant of fuel with a ignition/spark map/profile that will run a zetec |
