I dont know if connecting to the gearbox would be the problem, it's more likely to be where it mounts to the floor pan thats the problem!!

Might be worth a trip to the scrappy to get a standard escort one first and see what it's like!!

Although, I am tempted to give it a bash as my gear stick is as slack as a slack thing on a slack day!! :lolz:

Was just looking into this as was thinking about buying it and have found out the following:

1) The B&M Quickshift for the Mk3/4/5 Escort is the same part number as the Fiesta Mk4.
Now, Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Mk4 and Mk3.5 share the same floor pan?!? So they should fit!

2) the Kit above is only that, a conversion kit for your current gear stick assembly so is absolutely no use for me as mines is slack as

If you read the blurb on the site and look closely at the picture its just a spacer block that shortens the thrown not an actual kit like the B&M ones!

On saying that, if your current linkage etc is ok, it should fit..... I think!!

yea but the mk4/5 is the same aswel and apparently a zs 1 wont fit, bigg1985 tried it before he told me.

yes the kit can be fitted to a fiesta gear linkage. however. the later sticks are knurled at the base not splined. which means shifting the nylon ball at the bottom is a right twat as its levels of grip are much higher and you stand more chance of ruining it than anything else. if your going to do it. go and get a mk4 escort gearstick it will be much easier!

slack linkages can also be sorted out by using the guide on the zetec inside website. the side to side baggness could also be the bias springs in the likage. new ones are available. and not a difficult job either.

so the answer is. yes they fit. but dont expect it to be easy!
