they will probablywork, but it'll run like an utter sack. the st170 manifold has topfed injectors also, so you wouldnt even be able to run 1.6 injectors in it... if your planning on doing this tb conversion while still using the ecu and maf like will has, you'll just have to stick with your injectors by keeping the injector plate, otherwise it'll crap its pants ecu wise. |

basiclly i would love throttle bodies for more power plus it is something diffrent i can get the throttle bodies but i carnt say that i will have the money for a aftermarket ecu right now so how can i do this with the standerd ecu |

can i use the old injector rail bore that out and bore out the standerd inlet but cut it so that i have somthing to atach the throttle bodies? how would that work? |

yes you can do that... but keep the standard injectors and sensors otherwise the standard ecu will throw a wobbler. You'll need to make an inlet plenum to fit ontop of the throttle bodies and attach the maf to the end of it, otherwise the ecu wont be able to read the air going into the separate bodies. It might make abit more power but I bet it wont be alot. |

Firstly are you running a 1600? if so as paul said might not be a great increase in power, might get as much, if any by fitting a larger RS1800 throttle body @55mm dia. think my increase in bhp is helped by the total cross section area of the four individual throttle bodies is 3200 square mm, 45% larger than the previously fitted RS1800 @ 2200mm square. What ive done is use the standard injectors and sandwich plate and made a manifold to fit the throttle bodies, its possible that you can cut down the standard inlet manifold to mount the throttle bodies with flexi hoses but i would say it would be very difficult on space especially if you want a plenum to use the standard ECU this is pictures of my set up.   if i can get some more of the manifold blanks lazer cut, i might be able to make a few. any questions please ask   standard manifold and sndwich plate   as you can see from the design of the manifold its ok to cut down but may not be angled up enough to clear the bulkhead to fit a plenum, ive seen it done when running open throttle bodies/filter without a plenum though and replacement ECU |
