Ok, after being at this car show today and hearing some Whoping bass, and intense sound, I fancy myself a little bit more. I have a Mutant Sub, amp, wires. Pioneer 6x9s Some alpine tweeters. and god knows what front speakers (Crossovers I think is the name for them?) So for a start I need some new front speakers. What size fits the 1.6 si? And as for the Sub.. Hmmm, Is fitting a second sub as easy as the first? I have three preouts on my headunit, is it just a case of more wiring and a second sub placed in the boot? or is there more to it? Dont want it draining down the battery down and killing my car ![]() I've just realised how chavvy this post makes me sound. When im no where near a chav ![]() ![]() |

best place for audio advice. One thing i can tell you though is that if you do want to get a decent system your first step will be to pretty much chuck all you just listed lol, the good stuff cost big money and you'll get nowhere near as good sq with cheaper alternatives like mutant. |

Throw the most money you can at your front speakers. You want some high spec components. Place your tweeters high up on the dash or maybe where the mirror adjuster thingys are. You might wanna get something a bit bigger than the 5.25" thats up front as standard. a 6" or 6.5" driver would give you more higher mid-punch that the 5.25" lacks. You don't need to spend a fortune on the sub, £150 would easily get something that would give you the quality you're looking for. The enclosure is where you need to focus your attention TBH. It can make or break the sub and it's sound. One single sub in the right enclosure would blow away two subs in a piss small box. You don't need to spend a fortune on it, just pick the right bits and spend where it counts. My system cost me about £30 5 years ago ![]() |

I used to have 2 10" jl audio subs in one passive box . then I went down to 1 sub in an enclosed box and preffered it. the weight of 2 big subs just makes your car drink fuel and it is a whack on the battery/alt when you're in a hot fiesta with the blowers on, headlights on etc. Trust ![]() |

fitting a second sub be same as first less you get a bigger amp and run them both off one amp that would be an easyier choice may be an idea to fit a power cap aswell and also sometimes a diesel battery is better for a bit more power if your thinking of putting some money into it i love audio got it in my nova and the bass in that is unreal and i love it shame i havent heard it for a long time now ![]() but the more you spend the quialty is alot differnt the local club im part of has the sound off champion on europe he won it 5 year or something in a row pic of the thropys and the car here he has now striped this and making a new car its a galaxy made into a pickup with all the sound off stuff but all this will be brand new ![]() |

Well quality as I could turn down my sub at the moment to get rid of the slight distortion and add anpter to get the sound right. I think I might start with the coaxials. How hard is it to do the door cards.. Because I make a mess of these things. Then one by one upgrade 6x9s, sub and amp. Just to more powerful stuff instead of adding more ![]() ![]() |

dont bother with 6x9's, try to do mid and trebble and fail at both. you'll be better off with a good set of components and a single decent sub in a propperly sized enclosure |

Werd. 6x9s suck balls. They always end up pulling the sound stage to the rear of the car. Front comps up front. Buy a cheap 2 channel amp to run them off. I wouldn't bother with anything in the back if I were you. If you wanted to you could fit some mid-bass speakers in the rear quarter panels or something but they're expensive for decent ones and means more hacking up of your interior which you don't seem mega keen to do lol. |

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /3839.html what do we think, if i bought two of them? or would it only be worth buying one? then what amp am i going to need to power it? like what am i looking out for on the amp specs? im guessing that it can handle 1250W? lol |

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... 10983.html That would blow two of those others out of the boot. Dare say you'd get it cheaper somewhere. Shop around. http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /5624.html That amp should suffice. You could run both at 2ohms for some serious SPL. |

K:MEWAX:IT can anyone give me some input into these? im getting some fusion 6x9's (Sorry!) then probably will go for fusion coaxials when i get the new car. got that sony headunit, and now im going to save up for that sub/amp. but id like to know if tweeters are worth it really, plus how hard are they to fit? EDIT - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JBL-GTO18T-Car-Tw ... 286.c0.m14 would it be worth paying the extra money for something like that ![]() |
