hi, i have started to take out my back seats and seat belts/brackets etc and would like some advice...
- With no rear seats and no rear seat belts also the floor brackets will it pass an MOT??
- I am also looking into fitting some 3 point harnesses to the normal SI front seats. . . where do the 3 harness eyes bolt into? and will it pass MOT if i keep the front seat belts in? or do the seat belts need to be removed to aid the fitting of the 3 harness eyes?

its a case of if its not there they cant test it. the dvla wont want to see it if you take seats out. but they will if you want to put them back in so its upto you if you fill in the v5 to say its now only got 2 seats. you have to remove the original belts to fit 3 or 4 points. the eye bolts go in the holes your belt reels and stalks go.

altho i will add that your airbag and and inertia reel belt while may not be overly cool have been designed to work together. as harnesses wont give you the same amount of movement as the belt your head/upper body will be in a different place to where the boffins have worked out it will be. thus your airbag may even do more harm than good. just some food for thought.

there is no MOT problems if rear seats and belts removed, however i wouldnt think it would be good to fit harnesses with the orignal belts as you will need to double up on two of the fixing bolts. is it a 3 or 5 door? my 4 point harness is fitted to the orignal fixings in the front seat and sill, and to the lower rear and center seat belt bolts

the harness i had came with new bolts, if fitted properly to the orignal mounting points shouldnt have MOT problems
