top of my head says no mate if you're talking cossie pistons out of a cossie engine ![]() If you are not increasing the bhp of the car, i think the pistons are ok, at a push maybe some ARP Conrod Bolts but the standard crank can handle 500bhp y0 ![]() If you are turboing, calibra turbo pistons are good, but require overboring and a 2.1 turbo result etc etc yada yada and is expensive |

going technical on me now ![]() also is a 4-2-1 manifold better than a 4-1 |

Course it is! All the exhaust gasses won't be meeting in 1 point at the same time with a 4-2-1, it's kind of filtered into the single pipe rather than being forced into it. If ya get me! ![]() As for the pistons, no idea, all that knowledge has been long since lost in my ageing mind! ![]() |

well the YB is really a 20 year old design engine at least, so i doubt it mate ![]() and not all the knowledge has gone yet Des ![]() |

I've been meaning to get remote start fitted for a while now, but there's always something else to be spending money on ![]() But I'd never thought about it being a homing device aswell, nice one ![]() |

in short the answer to your question is no. the YB runs the same size pistons as a Pinto. hardly suprising as its the same block essentially unless its the thicker walled 200. anyways. the pistons in that are 90 mm (or thereabouts). the pistons in a 2.0 zetec are 85 with 86.5 being an acceptable size for an overbore. you can get performance pistons for a zetec. altho it would at this point be worth mentioning that the gudgeon pins are a bit of an arse to get out as they are interference fit in the rod and float on the piston. depending on the age of your engine there are 2 sizes of pin. 19mm and 13/16ths. (21mm in new money) and i have no idea of the pin size on a YB piston. but the essence of it is no they wont fit. the 4-1 is better for top end horsepower youll lose a bit of lower end...the 4-2-1 will sacrifice a small amount of top end for some more useable grunt lower down besides. cosworths are forced induction. why would you want a lower compression ratio in an N/A engine? jam |

just wondered and forgot about the comression ratio ![]() |
