seen a few pics of other members cars with escos wheels on them just wondering if they would fit on my car no probs although i have the 15mm spacers on the axle to widen the rear track |

take the spacers out. mod the arches front and rear. attach something to cover up the sheer butchery (2i skirts work a treat) and hope your suspension is stiff enough ![]() they look awesome granted. but im not sure i'd have the hassle again ![]() Jam. ![]() |

As Jam said above.. Major butchery is needed, and will need to cover it up with arches! although they do look awesome when done ![]() |

£400+ for a set. As they are Escort Cosworth wheels, which instantly makes them more expensive ![]() They are 16" and are 8j wide I think The standard tyres are 225's. So good luck on fitting them on a fiesta without much work like Jam had to do ![]() Gays fit 195's and stretch the tyres to fit. |

spokes arent as fat either. yep correct 8x16. im personally not a big lover of the mondeo ones and i'd be more inclined to spend it on aftermarket alloys but its difficult to get wheels that dont look cheap imo i know they're not but some cheapen the look of the car. choose carefully ![]() Jam |

roll on mondies and youl look like a wannabe roll on escos and youl look good. sorry but its my opinion, its like replica cars, unless its got the same running gear or better than the originals why bother. my mates 3door cos is a replica, but its a 4x4 conversion and runs a beautiful YB so its thumbs up from me but a escort cos rep with a 2l zetec just doesnt cut it, especially when its not been done very well, i.e. drums on the back, SO..........get escos wheels! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

although if you run pussy 195 tyres on cossie rims I will personally slap you. i took great pride out of proving people wrong on certain forums with things.. eg. running 205 tyres slammed 60mm+ (apparently was a no chance) and also fitting a mk5 screen.. which was said by everyone as a no no ![]() |

what did you do on the inside of the arches to stop scrubing or do you just not use full lock |

Post subject: | Re: escos wheels |
i binned the arch liners. which spreads the road dirt everywhere when it rains. the wheels will foul the chassis leg. theres not much you can do there you can restrict the lock but thats about it... and the next bit is a dilema. some suspension legs are slightly fatter than others. the bit that goes into the hub is the same but the actual damper body is fatter. this is a problem by which if you run spacers the rim will be outside the body line. the MOT man only looks at the tyre. the traffic copper at the side of the road will also look from a C&U point of view which means the rim has to be inside the body line too and there have been instances of fines being issued for falling foul of this... even without spacers i seem to remember mine being borderline with the above with no spacers and a fag paper between wheel and shock leg. somehow it worked... archwork wasnt as brutal as pauls. but not far off. as for tyre sizes. anything under a 215 is a joke. you can get 215/35s but at 90 quid each online i was a touch put off. i ran 225/40 falkens for a while. got the scrubbing down to sod all with those then fitted the last set which were 215/40 dunlops and until the day i took it off the road it didnt scrub anymore. it looked the shit and i was happy. i was lucky in the respect i already had the wheels from another project so buying them and having issues wasnt a problem. i just played with it till it worked. thats about the best advice i can give at the min. |
