http://www.fiestaturbo.com/forums/zetec-heads-vt98056/ This an interesting post it appears me and sunil have the same head a 1.8 cylinder head worked on by raceline and then bolted to the 2.0 bottom end. X-factor (Jay) is saying that the 1.8 head doesnt flow aswell as the the 2.0 so why would he put a 1.8 head on ours. He also has the bottom end decked by raceline to increase the CR but sunil told me about mine that jay never decked mine due to zetec_si on the turbo site when he had the engine done not wanting it decked due to the risk of detonation if the compression raised |

Ring up a specialist and talk to them instead of listening to everyone claim things when really half of people on the net only know what someone else "knows" lol |

the 1.8 and 2.0 heads share the same size valves. and to the best of my knowlege there was no difference in ports..bare in mind with basically a cam, inlet and ecu swap a 1.8 will chuck out 130 odd bhp all day long. what makes the difference in using a 1.8 head on a 2.0 is the combustion area is smaller. this the larger piston is forcing the mix into a smaller chamber. to be honest having the block decked i doubt would wind the compression up enough to cause detonation. as the compression process is causing enough heat for it to self ignite or detonate. im sure someone will correct me if thats wrong.
