Corsa 1.4 SXi 11.6 seconds 73bhp Vdub Golf GTi Mk1's also came with 1.8, mk2s are 1.8 in two flavours. ~ 8.6 seconds 8v - 112bhp / 16v - 150bhp Saxo VTR Early shape (97) Later shape (99+) 9.9 seconds for early 90bhp model 9.1 seconds for later 100bhp model Renault Clio 1.6 (You must mean 2000+ Models. There isnt a 1.6 before then. 9.3 seconds 110bhp If you see a Phase 1 or 2 Clio trying to race. Don't bother ![]() So in short, they'd whoop you with the exception of the Corsa. An SRi would prob beat you, I think they're 100bhp. 0-60 on your Si is booked at 10.5 seconds, but maybe you could launch it and get 10seconds or a few tenths under maybe. Congrats on passing your test all the same, i suggest you don't go out racing everyone out as you'll just crash. Dont think it wont happen to me, it will especially in the wet. Give it 6months and then start increasing the pace ![]() ![]() |

WIll agree with the above, the si isn't too quick really. Just don't push it too hard since you have just started driving, if in doubts just back off, its not worth dying for a race. With that I race everything I end up next too a porsche carrera the other day. Was one of them where 2 lanes go into one straight after the lights and he was in the outside lane, no doubt he was quicker but couldn't get enough room in the short distance to get in front and had to pull in behind me, With that any further and he would have just murdered me ![]() |

I got to admit the performance is a little bit disapointing. But! My car seems to be able to go round corners faster than alot of other (corsas, saxos etc) ![]() |

my si only has 90bhp or something like that ![]() engine needs rebuild as it lacks the power over zooms car (on here) for example.. driven both, and his even with passengers is in a far better condition. |
