any one thought about putting an intercooler on a n/a engine or know some one that's done it? any improvement? as i know it ull be nice cooler air in to the engine so i think it can only be good as long as its not to restrictive so what your thoughts on it good or bad

No point what so ever mousey  , would restrict the air if anything, better off sheilding from heat soak and improving air flow to the filter!

there was an article in fast ford last month i think or month before, someone wrote in asking about this for their puma. You would have to get a huuuge one to stop it restricting the air flow, and at the end of the day, Fast Ford said it wasn't worth it, probably wouldn't gain much any way, and your mates would take the piss  (that was to the bloke who enquired)so i agree with the above, what matty said |

definatly a no no, the only reason you need one on a forced inductions engine is because as you compress air it gets hotter, n/a there is no compressing of the air outside of the engine so no need for intercooler/chargecooler

yeah nos is good, but use a wet system over a dry one as youl only kill the engine otherwise. |

yeah you can get wet kits for £4-500. and they are pretty straight forward to fit if you have half an idea about mechanics, go for a nitrex i saw in fast ford or performance ford mag a test done on an rs1800 i think it was and it gave 73lb ft increase with just 50bhp jets, the bhp was around 50 but the torque is the main thing.. cant wait for my dad to get nos on his sierra, gonna be mental, he is getting 100bhp jets |

but before you run out and buy a kit and wick the biggest jets you got on it, my mate is running a wet NOS setup in his 2l zetec powerd mk4 escort and he spoke to NOS in the states and they said the biggest jets he could safely run on a standard spec rebuilt 2l zetec was 50bhp ones so be warned, if you engine is a bit tired nitrous will only speed up the death process. |
