hello i am not technical at all with this so dont shout at me haha i am currently using Alpine headunit alpine door speakers (200 watt) 2 tweeters on dash (not sure what came with car) 2 parcel shelf speakers Fli 2 x 200 watt fli 1000watt sub with built in amp i am planning to get rid of the sub and replace my parcel shelf speakers with vibes 6x9's 600 watt do i need to get an amplifier sorry if thats blatently obvious but im not any good on technical stuff haha cheers guys

Try the talk audio forums if you get no good replies here. Whatever you don't buy 6x9's though mate. Honestly. But hey it's your money. My fiesta sounded quite good though thanks to a 12" jl audio sub, alpine amp, alpine speakers in the doors and some sony tweeters. It was all done on a budget but sounded alright for about £140 worth. (all 2nd hand apart from the £25 alpine speakers) unless you're seriously into your sound and you dont mind all the weight making your car slower, what you have is more than good enough though. |

depends on whether you after sound quality or noise quantity, for quality its better off with good mid high range speaker set up in the front with infill base which is less directional in the rear, i managed a few years ago to fit a set of 6.5" subs, 5.25" mids and tweeters in the front of an XR2 with 6x9 and 12" sub in the rear all with amps which sounded good. depending on what output your Alpine head unit is, but would expect you would need some amplifiers a 200w speaker means nothing if only being driven by a 25w per channel head unit also if you fit an amplifier on rear it will drowned out the front unless the head unit has the option of driving just the front speakers with its internal amp and aux output for rear amplifier. Hope this helps and not just complicate things even more |
