K&N part number is 56-9042 It's a bolt on filter, which replaces the whole airbox on top of the inlet thing. Get one! Won't make you anyfaster, but they do sound awesome at full throttle. I had a 1.1 with one and loved it. Never experienced a drilled airbox, so don't know how it compares, maybe you could try it first, as it's cheaper, and see what you think? |

drilled airbox sounded nicer than having an open filter on my car, and then you have the added gains of using a panel filter instead, so you car will respond better and get less heat soak. I think I'm going to enlist help and have a sticky or two about modifications in this forum so people don't keep asking the same questions in various threads

Yea i have just ordered a panel filter for my escort. On my fiesta 1.3, i had a k+n panel filter, a cold air feed from under the bumper to the filter box and i had to grind the back of the airbox of so the filter was showing to fit my xr2i strut brace. It sounded the sh*t, loved it, one thing i really miss from that car! |
