The only induction kits worth getting are the expensive ones with a heatshield and cold air tube around the filter cone, otherwise the cone just sucks in hot air from your engine bay, even if you use the little cold air tube you get with a K&N its only getting cold air to one side of the cone. And you'll lose bhp if you've got hot air coming into your engine instead of cold dense air.

I took my K&N induction kit off last week and went back to the O.E. airbox, I might buy a K&N panel filter for it though so the filter doesn't have to be replaced every service. My induction kit is up for sale if anyone wants it, K&N 57i kit only done 5000 miles since April, £50 inc. p&p. PM me if interested.

Oh, you do need to service the Pipercross kits, mate had the service kit for it his in his Corsa GSi, needs the oil reapplied and a good clean before hand with the cleaner :)

Just get a panel filter, induction kits are a waste.

Only thing they will increase on a 1600 zetec is fuel consumption :look:

You may actually lose power with an induction kit due to heat soak so that's worth bearing in mind...

My K&N's been on for 7 years and still working fine. I clean it and re-oil it with K&N stuff when i service the car.
