Maybe you did buy the wrong ones Phil... Even my Si had the spax on it when I first lowered it before having coilovers, Im sure it was a little lower... hold on, let me check facebook lol.

This is the Si on -40mm spax springs only.... The middle two are with 50 profiles, and the first and last on 45's.

These pics actually make it look lower than 40 looking at them, but ive got a pic of the spring code so its deffo 40. Maybe the weight of the engine compared to the HCS one made it slightly lower. Who knows.

This last one looks slightly higher.

Personally i would say -40mm for all roundness, -60 looks epic on you si, i've got -35mm gmax springs which have sagged down to around -50, and ive noticed hadling isnt as sharp asit used to be when i got them, it looks good being that low and fiven my car some nice negative camber but its wearing the inside of my front like no 2moro, luckily 195/45r15's dont cost me much
