I've got Nankang NS2's on mine at the mo, can't fault them, especially compared to much more expensive tyres. Not the greatest out there, but certainly a capable tyre! Handles the Pulsar fine

Woah ditch finders on the Pulsar??

I have a nankang and a P6000 on the back and two T1R's on the front I think.

Going for kumho ecsta KU31's for my new wheels in 195/45, meant to be a good tyre, will have a little stretch but I think it will handle pretty damn well!

Ditch finders? Yeah, I've binned it loads of times :hmm:

I went for them because a mate had them on his Subaru, and they were great on his. And I've had no probs with them on mine, as stated...

And I remember one of those times very well

I agree with the whole thing about losing grip sooner with a mid range tyre. As you say, you learn how the car handles at a speed less likely to do serious damage when it does go.

Maybe that's why I haven't found a ditch as I know how to drive the thing...

I know a lot of higher end performance cars run nankangs. Subaru boys are actually quite fond of them :)

Just because it's a non motorsport used make, doesn't mean it's no good. Dunlop are one of the most well known tyre makes out there, one of the oldest too and I find their tyres absolutely shite. Literally might as well have tyres made of soft american cheese slices or just warm dog shit lol.

The NS2's are fantastic in my opinion, especially for the price. I cant remember the last time I had any wheelspin, and I cant get them to let go on roundabouts unless its wet. Like I say, first time I experienced them was in my mates Subaru, he gunned it round a mini roundabout, I asked him what he had, and I've had them myself since!

I had Yoko A539's before on the Fiesta, and found them absolutely shocking tyres, sooooo bad, yet many people rate them and I couldn't understand why! They were on the front, then I needed some new rears, got Toyo Proxes, and swapped the A539's to the rear, the difference was unreal, but the back end of the Fiesta was then so slippery. Utter dung.

Ahhh, I had some Hankook Ventus tyres before and they were impressive too!

Yeah mine are a bit scetchy in the wet when they are getting low, I've not properly hammered it in the wet to find the limits on them, and I'd rather not either tbh.

Kumho's are another cheaper but half decent make. A lot of cars run them these days, and so do motorsport teams :)

Just remember you can't get them in 45 profile anymore, that's why I don't run them :(

I cannot praise Nankang NS2's enough!
I have Goodyear Eagle F1's on my Audi and when the fronts needed replaced was skint so bought the NS2's and noticed absolutely bugger all difference!!

I've had them on the Audi and the Fiesta and think that, for the price and reasons stated above on breakaway etc, anyone who uses anything else needs slapped!! Ok, the slapping is a bit of an exageration, but they are the mutts nuts!!

Have they stopped making F1s yet, I will miss them if they do.

Well seeing as you all rate them so much and I don't need massive amounts of grip if they do end up being shite in my size, i'm going a step down to 185/45 and they only do that in NS2's so i'll get some, cost the same as the Kumho's but I should be able to get a better stance as oppose to 195s'.

On further investigation the NS1 were the ditchfinders and as you say, the NS2 are a good tyre for a budget.

Yeah, the NS2 wasn't even a directional tyre was it? I don't think you'll be disappointed with the NS2's for the money matey :)

I got Uniroyal rainsport 2's on the fronts and Pirelli p5000 dragos on the back. the Pirelli have been on the car for 12 years and done 305k miles and still got loads to tred left.

looking at getting Uniroyal rainsport 3's this time. the 2s are very good in the dry and wet, although those with the 2.0 will probably want more dry grip.
