Finally got a new project

Been a long time coming now, with lack of funds and lack of fiestas too without more rust than the titanic.

Hopefully will have more luck than the last one....

Image

Any way, I have put this in projects as I have few plans, and hope to update regularly as possible as I go along.

Its recently had a new engine and has 52000 miles.

First of all I put my old Miglia Spyders on…

Dodgy exhaust

The shell looks good, just a tiny rust patch on off side rear arch.

It didn’t stay like that for too long though…

I fitted a magnex 3â€￾ stainless exhaust. And took a few bits out I thought weren’t needed.

Must say I was very impressed, not a sign of rust inside under the carpet.

Weighed it all as it came out too

Just messing about with battery, moving it out the engine bay to give a bit more space, and should help weight distribution as it weighs 11KG!!!!!
Rear Seat 7 kg
Wheel Carrier 2kg
Sound deadening 3.5kg

Plans then are

Weld in strut braces
Start mocking up a roll cage.
Seem Welding
Rose jointed rear
Tubular front lowers

Liking the Reyland rear end where it is mounted to the floor, but maybe that’s a bit excessive for a Fiesta?

Image

And

I have these to go on at some point, just need to get Mega Squirt or OMEX.

Just need to be stripped, serviced and rebuilt then.

Small update.

Been sorting out a few current problems.

This week...

New

Throttle body gasket
Throttle position switch (Ford wanted 72.99 :o got on at work though :) )
Cam cover gasket
4 new antiroll bar mounts and bushes

Still stuck with a major flat spot at 4500rpm ish but no fault codes coming up.

With other commitments I just haven’t had much time or money to work on this to be honest.

Mainly this...

Image

And helping rebuild this...

Image

Sorted the flat spot, down to a FUBAR`d TPS.

Generally tidied the engine bay up.

Image

Spent a few nights this week taking up the sound deadening. WHAT A BALL ACHE! :x

Bit of primer :(

Image

I was going to go for just one coat of paint, but thought it was best off doing it correct once rather than having to do it again a couple wet months down the line. Hopefully I will finish it off tomorrow...

Image

Image

Also had a play with this dash at flocking, dash was poor tbh but I think the clock surround looks okay. Needs more prep next time!!!

Image

Image

Friend who has been working at QuickMotorsport says it doesn’t look much worse than the WRCs they had in but, it will look 100 times better when I don’t do it in the car next time. :look:

Hopefully get something along these lines with my new dash (don’t be expecting a STACK dash though  )

Image

Recently bought Morettes and an FRST bonnet which should make an appearance as soon as I take them back home to be painted.[/img]

Waiting on a friend to sort me some cable and the battery will be put behind the passenger seat.

Just a question of saving for the new GAZ suspension and set of seats.

Oh, and souring a new engine for my TB`s.

Until next time :)

Well no updates for a while! :look:

I have been doing a few genral bits. Including full powerflex front and some new drop links in the few moments I do get free these days!

Also sprayed and fitted my RS bonnet and morettes so looking a bit more motorsporty now.

:)

Decided to forget about my 38mm bike throttle bodies...

And use some nice 48mm toyota babies which are just a little larger 8-)

Also cleared the shed out for this which I picked up a week ago...

Got some 3in1 degreaser on the block, amazing stuff :o :o :o

Image
Image

All stipped down now, need to find some where to have the block hot tanked. Either that or wait for my parents to go away for a weekend and use the dishwasher.

These need some work...

Image

Will be flow benched before and after to see the difference.

Suddenly washing ups more fun

Head in the parts washer...

Cheeky pic

That all for now :)
