Problems people have found?
Any tips? etc

Pickup is going to get a good interior and this will go better due to the mk5 windscreen :chill:

the mk3 dash comes out in 10 minutes

when ur fitting the new dash u may aswell fit the heater assembly from the mk4/5 aswell as the mk3 1 is wire operated and the 4/5 is electronically and via a soleniod, u'll need to cut a letterbox size hole in the top of the bulkhead on the passenger side

u'll need the A-pillar trim from the 4/5 as the mk3 1's are too short

removing the 4/5 can be a pain in the arse (well it is when the cars in the scrapies and 3 cars off the deck :lolz: ), theres a strengthening bar located inside the dash, u dont need that

ur mk3 dash is held on with 3 bolts on the top of the dash just below the windscreen, when fitting the new dash u need to "hook" the middle hole on the new dash OVER where the middle hole is on the bulkhead (u'll see what i mean when u do it :thumbsup: ), securing the dash with bolts down the side

the space between the fuse box and accelerator pedal is quite close (i sometime hit it with my foot and my feet aint that big), so what i did was move the box higher behind the dash creating a lot more room, but i could still access it if need be 8-)

thats all i can remember off the top of my head, if u hit any probs gime a shout, cause im pretty sure i'll had had the same when i did mine :doh:

worth it in the end though m8 8-)

couple of other things ive just remembered

when going into 3rd u sometimes scrape ur knuckles (u soon learn how not to though)

and the hoses that come from the heater to the vents in the dash, 1 of them need to be extended, easy enough though :)

I take it you are using the mk4 clocks also?

whats the wiring like to do for the clocks, heater and switches?

yeah, ive got mk5 (zetec-s clocks in mine), think they look better with the rev counter and whte background

the sswitches are easy, the heater is a little tricky but nothing to loose sleep over, my mk5 clocks use a different plug to the 1 in the mk3, not sure which plug the mk4 clocks use, but wiring them is also easy :)

fook! 1 more thing i forgot to tell u about the zetecs clocks! the petrol guage read backwards, ie, u have a full tank, it tells u its empty, thats the reason im fitting a zetec-s fuel tank on the 2l

Right well as my heater has died in the pickup... I am going to get my mk4/5 dash stuff next week sometime.

Do I need the whole heater setup from a mk4/5; matrix the lot?
