Get the cam cover off and jet it down properly and spray it whatever colour you want. But dont forget to get a new gasket for it - only a couple of quid.

That's how I done mine :) Just gives the engine bay a freshness.

ANother thing to make things really stand out is to get the engine steam cleaned. I know there are horror stories about this, but if you get it done right it can look amazing, and still retain all your standard things. Pumabuild actually do a steam cleaning service, so it can't be all bad :)

Rocker gaskets are near £10 each time. i have soent soo much just to get the timing etc done. would like to recheck it but feel reluctant to spend it again.

Heres what a little tin of radiant red and a tin of heatproof silver paint can do, cost in total about 10 quid

i thought a good idea to tidy up the engine bay is paint the power steering pipes black and buy a escort mk5/or 6 heat shield as it looks better than the si one and doesn't rust it was about £12 i think from fords

heres a pic not very clear but you may b able to see it
