Hi,
I have a few gearboxs lying about now and fancy giving a rebuild a go on one of them.
Below is a link to a kit i have seen, is it any good or is there a better place to get one from??

Could someone tell me what sort of work is involved in replacing all these parts and how hard it is? could it be done in a day including fitting the box to a car??

i've been told never to take a gearbox apart unles i have a lot of space, time and patience. it's a little fiddly.
i've got details of a place in Worksop, Notts. that recon's boxes. said he could do me a 'box w2ith uprated mainshaft bearing, new housing, recon all gears and fit ERST LSD for £400 IIRC

You need a special puller for 5th gear.. but that's about it..

have to be careful and yea you will need space to spread all parts out in some sort of order as usually if one thing is round wrong way then that could lock you box lol and you wont find tht out till the end !!!


so it would be good knowledge to do it if u have loads spare then its not an issue lol
