it says there for the 1.2 and 1.4 and will fit zetec s :hmm:

im guessin ther one of those folk that think a 1.2 or 1.4 is a zetec s jus because the engine says it on the cam cover.

there not the ones you want im afraid

oh n i doubt muchly that youl see 30-40 horse from cams more like 10-15 extra tbh

What kind of extra lift and duration do they provide dude? That will give you a good indication of what it can give you gains wise.

I'm talking all mods included, full zorst, cams, remap, overall about 30? I'm not bothered as long as its quick

well a lot of stuff for the ZS is able to be put into the 1.25 and 1.4 engines, so I dont see why not realllly..

He doesn't have the part number or anything for them.

http://www.kentcams.com/ - dunno if that will take you to the link I was on.. but theres two types of cams on the Zetec s list..

Pumas are only 123bhp though. and thats a days hassle and sourcing an engine etc. its only gonna end up costing me around £500-700 overall for all my engine mods, instead of £500 on an engine then more getting it up to 130-140

Some people on ZSOC reckon that becuase there for a 1.25 they won't differ to much from the standard 1600 ones

Throttle... Bodies.... Best n/a mod! Problem with lairy cams is drivability low down day to day is a pain, so stick a mild one with the bodies.

What power increases per rpm Would a few hours on a RR gain you?

aren't they expensive though? :( don't you need like aftermarket mangement etc. etc.

I'm basically looking to do all this with under a grand.. So far the exhaust has set me back £360. cams second hand around £250 and then a map £300.
I've no idea what the map will do apart from it will smooth the cams out so they won't be so rough (apparently SS4's are pretty good anyway, loads of people run them) and will just help to put the power potential out with all the mods.
I'm a complete amateur with all of this  as im sure you all know.
It will also help to map it to get the rev limit and power band sorted, as the power will go up to 7500 and i'll need the limiter up to that etc.

I'm thinking these this month possibly..

Is the mk5 ecu mappable or will you need extra hardware? The most important factor will be the map. I'd never rely on any kind of pre-made map as every engine is different. Save a bit more cash for this part and read a bit more dude, custom map for your unique engine and setup ( every engine is unique) IS the way forward and will give you the biggest grin from all of your other items you've spent money on.

Yeah there is the option of an MSD chip, which is pre mapped for ss4s, exhaust. but I don't want to go down that route because as you say, its not unique to my engine.
TB's are £700!! thats out of my budget, I don't want to go OTT, it is only a fiesta afterall
But yeah, I see what your saying and this is where I need the help.
I'm not sure whether the ECU is mappable, i'm assuming not? :( So that would mean something like an OMEX Ecu or something? which aren't they like £600

Oooh looks like the standard ECU is mappable, but it won't give amazing gains, but its the cheaper way of doing it.

If you haven't got the money they maybe get a 2nd set of ZS cams from eBay (how much do they go for?), and send them off to get re-profiled like 'stuff n that' mentioned, then get the Ford ECU remapped!

Only benefit of getting different management is that when you come to sell the car, you can recoup lost money by simply refitting your old cams, put the old ecu in, and away you go. Depends how much work is involved, is it just an ECU and harness adaptor, or do you need to bugger about with the loom etc

Of course I'm no expert, I can only pass on the info I scarcely know about! But from years of what I've seen on mapping, gains and engine life in various forms on various cars, you just can't scrimp too much on the map.

ZSOC just went down when I asked a major question with someone in the know answering the questions  typical.

But by the looks of it, I could get the cams, and get the chip for them, and get it mapped for my car via the chip, which would be the cheaper option.
You had to get Omex 600 really for the cams etc, which is £600 I can't afford.
I don't want to skimp, i'm fine with paying out £3-400 for a good map. But its just getting the bits to start with. if its just an MSD chip and get that mapped on the standard ECU that makes life easier.
