Now I've read a bit about the Mk4 rear end conversion, but has anyone ever attempted a mk4/5 front end conversion?

I'm not entirely convinced it'd work well as you'd have to probably have mk4/5 wings, and I'm assuming they're more 'curved' than the Mk3 ones and then wouldn't marry up to the doors properly...but I suppose a bodge could be made here....

The bumpers look as though it's pretty much the same fitment though....

And before anyone says it, no, I won't just go out and buy a Mk4/5...just fancy doing something a bit different!

it ill look a complete bodge as you said the panel shape is diffeent and i think the door shape is different aswell.

Just swap all of the panels... job done.

Seen MK5 bumper on a mk3 before, looked shite.

To be able to do the conversion properly with everything you will need, front inner wings, front wings, front panel, front slam panel, bumper, lights.

Then the doors will look out of place, so fit mk5 doors (different curve in them)

Then the rear quarters will look shite, so replace them with mk5 ones

Then the rear will look shite, so replace the rear bootlid, and light panels

Yes, do the MK4/5 Rear if you want to.

Other than that, sell your MK3 to somebody that wants a retro shaped car, and buy yourself a cheap MK5 and dump a puma engine in it
