Tell my brain that you cannot go to a scrap yard and rob a mondeo of it's cams and ecu and put them in my 1.6 to get more power -.-'

since someone said "you need 2.0 cams and a 2.0 mondeo ecu man!" I've been contemplating and can't figure out whether I could. I'm so sure it's not that easy lol

It won't work, the cams won't work in the 1.6 head. It would work on a 1.8, but why put a 1.8 in and do that when you can put a 2.0 in.

Cheers. I know I can cam it, just not 2.0 cams.

And with the ecu it would require a remap I'm guessing, you can just put a 2.0 in a 1.6. Makes no sense to me,

It really is the best bang/buck power gain putting a 2.0 in.

The conversion is quite simple, you are basically swapping the engine/head/injectors/ECU/MAF and you have approx 130bhp. Getting the 1.6 upto that will cost a lot of money.

As I thought. Just chavs that saw my engine, thought it was a 1.8.. Until I said no. And tried to tell me that more power would be easy with 2.0 cams and a 2.0 ecu, as you said I was just going to wait a while and dump a 2.0 in once I learn how. Lol seemed the easiest and cheapest way to me. For now, it can stay normal. (ish)

Well a 1.6/1.8/2.0 all look the same.

In the mean time make sure everything else is upto spec (brakes, suspension etc)
