I bought a Si about 6 months ago completley by fluke for £50 off my dads mate, only need £150 worth of work and it was passed the MOT and on the road, ever since i've fell in love with it! they are a great looking car and drive really well.
At the mo i have a 1.4 8V 95 si, and i wanna upgrade it, im not too good with all things car, i know basics and im planning on getting an apprentaship in mechanics but until then! I was hoping some of you could send me some wisdom.
Basically I just want to know average costs, exact parts and the best brands for some of the things im getting and chuck me some new ideas in the process.
so heres the list:
New engine, ive seen around the site something about a 1.8 mondeo dropping right in,and some others what sort of cost do people fit engines for and what can i expect to pay?
Induction Kit, with this im guessing its just the cone? or is there more a whole induction? because i found one i like, and i found 2 cold air feeds i am gonna get and run them through the fogs, just wondering if ill need anymore stuff with that..?
Spoiler, Dont want a huge spoiler, but a nice one.
Alloy wheels, now i know that there 4 stud, and have read somewhere that they have to be 100/104 is that right?
how much average does it cost to take off the boot locks/badges etc.?
Spark plugs - what makes best?
Thinking of toyo tyres there pretty good right?
and does anyone know the average cost to respray a Si, because i want a real dark sort of black, metallic or Matt if its cheaper but preferably metallic. Some of the other bits im getting are:
Keyless entry system, Alarm, Lowering it by 35mm (buying in a couple days), Blue window tint, Blue sparco mud flaps, new pedals, some sort of grille to cover where i will be traking out the fogs, a new exhaustg system i found for £160 4" (is that gonna be stupidly loud?), Chrome windscreen wipers, and possibly putting a vinyl down the side once i respray it, Got new seat covers, Gear stick Lexus lights and some chrome windscreen washers
all on the way.
But yeah, help me out, add to the list, give me any advice you can id really appreciate it, i don't expect one person to sit and write me an essay on all of these things but just anything you know about and can help with. Cheeeeers
