hey guys just wondering how you reckon i should go about removing the mechanical abs from my si 1.6, it feels more of a danger than a safety feature !

I'd say keep it aswell. It's quite rare to have.

And although it's probably not the best ABS system compared to what they're like nowadays, as Scott said it may just help you avoid a bump one day! :)

The Si ABS is shite, i'd ditch it, its no where near like modern ABS.

yeah it almost made me crash it lets the brakes off for ages my foot wa flat to the floor an still heading for a parked car, this was only at about 10mph i dnt wanna risk high speed i trust my foot more than this abs.
thanks anyway ill look for some guides

Belt driven ABS onto the driveshafts. Its poop. And if it goes faulty its dangerous.

Get rid of the ABS modules and belts, get rid of the load sensor off the rear axel, get a non abs brake servo and pipes. Remove ABS bulb from dash. Done.
