Hey Guys and Gals,
i havent posted on here forever

i was just wondering if a couple of you with nearly standard fiesta Si's Could get me a reading of your Idle Fuel pressure (using the little shrader valve on your fuel rail with the blue dust cap)

i have one of these controversial FSE PBV's on my car
and well i am not entirely sure what the idle fuel pressure should be i was running it at about 2.0 bar and it would increase upto about 3 bar on acceleration it worked really well combined with my
kent cams, decat, superchip, 2litre throttle body air filter etc...
after fitting it my car managed to happily pull upto 130mph (on the clocks) probably about 126mph in real life and the flat spots at 2k and 3k were gone, and the strength of the powerband between 3500-5000k rev was noticably stronger

but some months later i then tinkered with my car some more, blocking the EGR in an effort to get a little more power
cleaned and re gapped spark plugs also changing the leads and stuff
i made a major school boy error and tinkered with the valve again loosing the perfect setting i had found on it (found by making many runs up and down a long stretch of road increasing and decreasing till there was noe more power to gain)
i cant rememebr if i increased the pressure or decreased it i didnt take a reading i went for a hit or miss tinker

and now it just seems to be running not as good

so i was hoping someone could give me the standard fuel pressure so i can set it back to that and try and tinker to get it back to its former glory

Thanks

i can't really help you as i don't have any equipment etc,
but couldn't you find out the pressure through haynes/fse/ford or something along those lines?
other than that you've got alot of tweaking ahead im guessing..
you take it to a tuner to do, probably get better results than when you're doing it yourself

hey, its been a little while since i checked on here, so busy with uni work, and work work, and so on,

thanks for your reply, i will see if i get any repsonce from FSE, i'm not sure if the pressure is in the haynes manual, i remember reading somewhere someone who fitted an FSE valve to a mondey and they was runnin 2.5 bar, but i think thats a little high for idle pressure.

on another note......

i managed to use a footpump on the shrader valve to get a pressure reading however, to my delight the rubber tubing on the footpump melted the next day, it was difficult to explain this to my old dear who owned the footpump, but tescos provided a quick fix for £3 lol 8-)

Owwwh , how i long for a rolling road and some Ecu reflashing kit.

(dropping RS1800 lump in at the end of june (should be fun), i think i will leave the standard pressure regulator in place and try and source a suitable ECU.)

i saw the cams you were selling on ebay, did they give your current engine much gains?
also, if you've got a reading, i'd go for 2.5, as im sure it'd be similar, atleast for now anyway :)

its the same accross all phase 1 and 2 zetec engines,
