When you swap your engine for another one,

IE Theres a mk6 escort on ebay with a mk4 mfi rs turbo lump in it


Does the MOT for emissions run on the age of the engine or the car?

(it doesn't list having a cat but has mot and was just wondering)

It's whichever one is older, the engine or the car. If it's an older engine, it's tested via the engine. An older car is tested via the age of the car.

So if it is the engine, the escort on ebay is alright then, its only up for £1500 with 210 bhp (Supposedly)

Either way i was just curious :)
