hi all
bought an air filter on ebay recently and it came with a piper x breather filter thing:

i don't know much about these, so where do they fit, and what do they do, has anyone had one? i've been told they are not worth buying, but for free i may aswell try it or not? :lol:
just wondered where and how it fits really cause it seems abit random to me

looks like a breather pipe filter to me, presuming the air filter you bought has no where for the origional pipe to slot into?

means the oil vapour will vent to atmosphere

faling that its what know it all said :lol:

I had one on my Fiesta, see if you can spot it in this pic:

Look at the brake servo and fluid reservoir. It's inbetween the pipes there!

It'll make NO difference to performance at all, but if any oil is coming through your breather pipe for whatever reason, it stops your main air filter getting plastered in oil. :) Have a look on your new air filter, and see if there's a hole in it anywhere, usually on the base. If there is, this is where your breather hose will go. If there isn't, put that little filter on the end of your breather hose and connect the main air filter up as you'd expect.

If there is a hole, and you still want to put the breather filter on, then block the hole up :lol:
