Hey all, just got back from ibiza to recieve my insurance renewal

over monthly payments the Focus has gone up to £170 a month!

Now in theory i can afford that, but i dont want to as a Fiesta Si was only £75 a month and a fiesta ST is £100 a month for comparison, I even am considering doing that or getting a newer shape ZS

But i want to ask on here, if i can afford the rediculous amount should i just cough up, its the cheapest quote i can get for the car I love it but i also love money too

Its quite expensive to pay every month.
Id probably opt for the cheaper to insure car if a fiesta st is only £100 a month but then that depends in how well the focus drives because sometimes its worth paying extra if you can afford it for the better car.

Some of them in standard are pushing 120bhp.

When you say paying monthly, what APR are they charging? it could be cheaper to use a credit card (as long as you stick to paying it over the year, with that there is also cashback deals which can knock a good amount off the policy.

Also try adding different people top the policy and see if it reduces it.

Personally I wouldn't even touch a car with insurance like that, as I keep saying I bought a C2 as the insurance group is mazing for what you get.

I vote Ry's idea if you wanted to go to a MK6 Fiesta again - thats what I'd be doing if I could afford to buy one.

When I'm done with the Teg, I'm going Diesel! Can't beat it for day to day driving. Though I plan for it to have an M badge so still not the most economic

I think i might just live with the extra insurance bill, i love the car too much

I pay £114 a month with 1 ncb

What was your insurance before it went up?

I paid last year, in Oldhamistan, £610 for a year all mods declared.

As much as I love the scrote, the extra £70 a year insurance is well worth it to me.

TBH if a Fiesta ST is still £100 a month for you, I'd simply look at getting a cheaper/faster car or stick with the Focus. I won't tell you how much I pay on mine because it would make you feel even worse!

Might as well stick with it because if you want to stay Ford, you probably won't find anything as enjoyable for cheaper as the Mk6 ZS TDCi looks to be a great car - it's still a downgrade and to save 70/80 quid a month.. Well you're only young once and it isn't the largest sum of money to pay on top of what you would pay - As long as you really DO get the enjoyment out of it.
