what happened to car insuance? my premium has gone up £120 this year for no reason.  any body who can find me a cheaper quote than £530 for a fiesta st, 26yr old, fully comp, 6 years no claims (PROTECTED) and clean license will win a mars bar. and a kiss from Ryan.

I had the exact same problem dude, 26 with 7 years no claims and it went up £120. I thought it was just my insurance company trying it on, but after many quotes I only got it down to £100 more but with no claims protection with admiral. So all I can say is try and get as many quotes as you can, try the likes of confused.com and see what happens. |

Look at sky insurance on here.. They normally try and beat the best quote you can get, plus your age etc fits the bill so might be better. Worth a try. |

Tell me about it, at worse you would expect it to stay the same. As I said, you might be able to reduce it slightly but you are more than probably going to end up paying more. ps. you may save a few quid if you swap it for a C2 VTS |

not sure if u can use this company out of west midlands but mines only 400 hundred quid for the fiesta si 1.6 only had my license a year try nfu mutual thats fully comp too |

My insurance went up on the Pulsar this year too, I had to fork out an extra £1!!!!  But like you say, an extra years no claims and it's goes up or stays the same... yeah ok. I see we have insurance people on here now. Wonder if they can explain why insurance companies bend over backwards to get your business, when they do we pay up on time, every month or in one full payment so we are driving legally, yet when it comes to claiming, they try anything and everything to get out of paying when we are entitled to claim?? The whole point of insurance is to ensure that should the worst happen, you are covered and don't lose out thanks to some tosser who can't drive. Yet you are made to feel like you have done wrong and shouldn't be trying to claim! Rant over. I've had my fair share of bad dealings with shit arse insurance companies, so as friendly as they are before you get a policy with them, it makes no odds to when you come to claim. The whole system needs looking at. |

Oli from Sky made a massive post somewhere about all this on either here or the DC2 forum, I'll find it. It's not for the faint hearted (long read) but it is very interesting. Still doesn't make you feel better about most people paying more the following year! Op - where exactly will this kiss be planted? |

I am happy to answer offer general insurance advice, answer sky Insurance related queries and some general insurance questions but I am not here to take stick about the insurance industry as a whole, I think that's fair enough. If insurance was to get even more involved though to look deeper into each of their clients scenarios, I can imagine Admin costs would rise surely for the extra time taken..? bearing in mind it's also based on car models and how many claims that car has received on a whole in that year and previous with the insurance companies specifically and on a whole I assume? |

But how about instead of me paying £400 and a women in the next town paying £200, why don't we pay £300 each, the moment one of us makes a claim or gets points then it can change but up until that point we should all be treated the same. |
