if its ur fault and they claim against u u keep the car but you dont get payout or anythin....just the third party.....if its their fault....u claim from their insurers

Oh yeah, in regards to the insurance question, you'll keep your car. You have TPFT, in this case, the other guy is the third party, which your insurance covers you for. His insurance will be calling your insurance to claim for the damages (if he has insurance), and yours will have to pay out. But they won't pay for yours to be repaired, which is where fully comp comes into play. The idea is that you have to get the car fixed yourself should it be deemed fit for repair, and pay for it all out of your own wallet. Your insurance company may wish to see your car though, so may send someone out. Also, if they want to take it to an accident repair centre that's approved by them (not sure if this would happen under TPFT), then be aware that you don't have to. You can choose where it goes, and in fact, you have the say on most things. Don't let them bully you into anything.

i'll keep you guys posted the guy i ran into seemed abit dodgy, i personally think he was driving on his dads or brothers or mates insurance, as i've not heard anything from him today (we agreed he would ring me to try and settle this outside of insurance). insurance company has not heard anything either. the guy was trying to push the 'give me £300 now and we'll call it quits... either that or i'll go through the insurance' so i thought 'hmmm' and now it seems he knows i can't afford to give any settlement i've not heard anything... makes you wonder whether he was trying to call my bluff and has no insurance himself.. i'll delayed/cancelled my for sale post, there is a long explanation for this but people won't understand unless they know my exact financial position with the mortgage and uni ETC. so im leaving it at this: we worked out the cheapest option for me would be to try and get my car roadworthy. hopefully the chassis is ok, that will be the detemining factor. i've looked at some cheap cars today and if im honest what i've got is far to good to let go to the scrappy. makes me realise how immaculate my car is. sorry for messing people around, but it might still fall that the damage is too much.... does anyone know if it is possible to fit a crossmemeber (or get a bodyshop to) and it look as if it has not been in an accident? i've heard its near impossible to align these things up, but i've spent so much on the car more wont hurt. 
won't be able to afford that kind of work for a year or so anyway.. cheers sorry for the essay andy |

the pictures...... im not sure what to think of it really.... hope this pics are the right ones 
seems like the bumper has come off on one side, not sure the extent of the damage to the bracket? rad is now banana shaped, lower valance has took a good whack, and slam panel seems to have had a good one too... drivers side wing was been pushed down where the indicator should go.. what else should i check? cheers andy |

Bloody hell Andy, did you launch your car into the back of the other one? 
I can see that the wings have been pushed back a bit aswell, as the line between them and the doors has decreased. It's one of those that looks worse than it is though, and any decent bodyshop should be able to fix it and you'd probably never know. Have a check on the underneath and see if anything looks bent out of shape, or broke. Antiroll bar, lower arms, check the suspension is still straight. I doubt any would be bad though. It's hard to tell with everything still on the car aswell though. I think your best bet is taking it for a quote, or take some pictures into a bodyshop if you can't get the car there and explain what happened. They might give you a rough quote, or they might say not to bother. Remind them that you may be able to get most parts for cheap, so it may just be labour costs and spraying up. That way aswell, you can accumulate your parts as and when you have the money, then save up a bit for the job if you have a rough price. And dont forget, with the car sitting there for a while bare metal will rust so if there's anything salvageable you might want to protect anything exposed on it.

i dont know how it happened...i think i may have been rolling already as i aproached the roundabout... happened so fast i couldn't take in what had happened i will check all the suspension out, it's a pain in the backside it being so bloody low though.... will probably get pics to a bodyshop cheers for ya help mate, i'll keep this post updated |
