Ah i think that it has been serviced regulary and not abused in that way. I know some hard miles are not a bad thing, the ford mechanics where my mate works were pleasantly surprised the compression was 190 across all 4 cylinders. They explained that most cars like mine have been "ragged" and it is usally fluctuating compression

alrite chap, i had a 1.8 si escort, i didnt no wot it was running power wise in standard form but i had a k&n filter, cat back stainless system and a unichip fitted n when it was remapped it produced 129bhp at the fly. and the mileage was around 75k. i serviced it when i bought it. standard id expect around 105-110bhp if the cars been serviced when supposed to etc. |

yeh as paul sed, it could be the iscv, mine idled lumpy wen i did the head gasket, give it a clean with carb cleaner n try it again.
