dont think a racing clutch is such a good idea! it will be even heavier than the one youve allready got, it will be a pain in the arse driving round towns as its either on or off so you will get serious gear grinding if you miss it! jus get an rs1800 one cause that can handle 130bhp so it should be fine, i dont think there is any difference though between the 1.6 clutch and the rs one but im not 1005 on that one company i DONT recomand are black diamond ive got one and its shite, i could have had a standard ford one for cheaper and it would atleast work properly!

you wouldn't need a paddle clutch until you're pushing over 170bhp really, and unless he's doing something special to the 2litre a normal zetec one will be fine. All the zetec clutches are the same.
Personally i'd recommend a fast road/uprated one, which will be stiffer but stiffer means better contact and no slipping :) I've got a fast road one and its the don.

ok...no racing clutch then, is it normal that its stiff? i test drove it the other day as im looking at getting an si, and the clutch felt real stiff, which imo means slower start off?
anyways cheers 4 ur replys, he will sticki with the normal 1

i tried saying that to ford when my clutch started playing up, some times it sticks a little bit but they were having non of it! any one know of any good uprated clutches?

ive been told that fast road ones arent any better say a standard one, my black diamond one that was brand new is actually an old reconditioned one with new pieces on! a mechanic up the road told me that and he is pretty trustworthy, should see his car! focus rally car with a subaru engine in and anti lag! mmm can hear him comming down the street a mile a way!
