If it is a mk3, not a 3.5, there is no flap (e.g if it is flush with the body). If so, depending on your tastes and what you think looks good, you can get an aluminium cap to replace it completley. You just take the outer ring off. Motorists centre (although they are closing) or I originally got mine from halfords, should be able to order. As I say, it depends, but other than respraying, it makes it look nice. Have enclosed a pick of my previous Mk3 with it on.

what has possibly happened is there has been rust in the usual place and it has been replaced with a mk3 panel not a mk3.5 panel, that is what i think is the most likely cos for beck's car |

all fiestas after late 1994 L reg had the petrol flap but the early L regs didnt have it. they put the flap on there due to the mk3 suffering from rust on the filler cap so they made to 3.5 with little changes which bought it up to date:) |

The on in my pick was an early L'reg. Typical that I missed out on the one with the flap. Still, suppose it doesnt matter as I drove that one for a couple of years with it cutting out at traffic lights and anytime i slowed down pretty much till i finally put it in the garage to discover all breathers in the engine had gone! New lump or new car. Well, my mk4 is on the drive, you can fill in the blanks! Hehehe |

The filler cap still rots take it off and look behind it! [lol] its a ford, no matter what it will rot! |
