Just a quick question. How easy would it be to put on an aftermarket steering wheel on the Si. I know there are complications because of the airbag. If i put on an aftermarket steering wheel where would i stand when its up for an MOT. Was looking at a Kahn F1 Steering Wheel in Black\Silver.

accordin 2 my Hayne max power ford book it says u will only fail an MOT if the air bag light is on! i think thats right someone correct me if i am wrong |

That would be easy, just take out the Airbag bulb around the speedos then. So does anyone know if the steering wheel not actual having an airbag makes any difference ?. |

One of the reasons your insurance is whatever price it is, is due to the records on their computers stating that it has safety features including the airbag. If you was to take it out, you would have to tell them, and it may well up your premium

Insurance aside, i could\can find out with them before doing it anyway, iam just trying to find out if it would pass the MOT or not. |

On steering wheels, does any body know if a zetec s wheel would go onto the si boss?? i had a smash a while ago and the airbag saved me really...want a nice looking wheel, but with a bag!!!

Don't forget that theres a few other things you gotta change too on your car, other than just the steering wheel 
I like the zetec S (mk5) steering wheel. a bit of red looks (or blue) looks nice amongst all that black in the Si's interior |
