magnex tends to sell themselves on their quality more so than their noise, and you tend to see an increase in power more often than not with magnex. i've got a 4" on mine 
you can drive it on light throttle and it sounds standard, then when you open it up more you can hear it. it makes quite a bit of booming on the overun, just what i like. id deffo go magnex again. 
oh questions. no you wont need to mod the exhaust in anyway. you'd use the same downpipe... it doesnt make any noise on idle.

Nice thats what i was hoping to read. been holding back on buying one cause of changing the engine and wasn't sure. Cheers. |

Got a magnex full system, was thinking about changing it but after speaking to some of you guys ive decided to keep it. The only thing i thought about doing is getting a universal 5" slashcut Magnex backbox to replace my current one, but i rekon alot of youi guys would rule against that ? 
What do you think

will a 5" jap exhaust fit in the Si bumper? or you going to 'mod' it

Ive currently got a 4" round one and that has some play either side of it. Well, if i go for it and it doesnt fit, i'd just simply make the hole in the bumper bigger, but not sure if i want it yet. I like it but everyones says stay away from jap style backboxes, so not sure what to do ? |

metal bracket behind the plastic bumper on the left that gets in the way of my 4", so will probs give you agro with a five mate |

I have a magnex 4" system on my 1600 si, but it wasnt loud enough as you say for when you stick your foot down....so i had the mid section removed!!!! Its cheap and also a power gain!! Capow...instant smiles when you start up!! Just been looking, and peco now do a 4" outwardly rolled back box for other fiestas (instead of just turbos) i have e-mailed them to see if they do it for the si! will let you know what they say!!
