Yey Another week >> another problem for my Si. there's nothing i love more than seeing it parked up not working. it lasted 4 days before the shat heap blew up again. its now pissing water out faster than your granny and is next to useless 
i picked a real stunner here i tell thee! any idea on the cost of just replacing the water pump, exluding the cam belt? it was replaced at 70k and its only done another 8k on it. cheers people. |

Had my waterpump done and they change the cambelt as a matter of precaution anyway, as mine had a cambelt change not long before too. Cost me about ?300 supply & fit mate. The belt has to be removed anyway to change the waterpump so you would only be paying the extra cost of new belt which is about ?15 anyway, the cost is all labour time. |

Actually just checked my invoice for the job and it was ?260.32 with a discount of ?14.85 as im a AA member and it was carried out by them. From what i can gather looking at the receipt they charged me ?75.08 for the cambelt kit and ?110 labour. ?51.59 for the water pump and ?38.50 labour. |

I know what you mean though scotty mate, about fixing one thing then something else goes. I took the door card off to put a new central locking motor in, then the next day the window cord snapped, so the door card was back off again to investigate. Motor still needs idler tensioner pulley kit & drive belt, 2 rear brake cylinders, 2 gearbox mounts, pressure sender, oil & filter change. Its all money and it all adds up quick !
