Sun strips.. Rust.. Scrubbing on full lock.. Tinted windows.. cheers |

Sunstrips - If the windscreen wiper goes on top of the sunstrip it will fail. Rust - If its still solid, it should be ok. If the metal is badly corroded and is soft or has a hole, it will probably fail (Basically if they find any rust on the sills... fail). Scrubbing on full lock - I put my 13" steelies on for the MOT just incase they fail it. Some people have told me it will fail, others have told me that it will still pass if it scrubbs on full lock. Basically depends what garage you take the car to. Tinted windows - Back 3 windows doesn't matter, as long as the front 3 windows aren't too dark it should be ok, I don't actually think they check window tints, just scratches/chips in the drivers view. |

rust is basically a failure if its within 30cm of a safety or structurally related item....i.e anything near seatbelts, suspension, seat mounts, that kind of thing..... if the tester wants to be picky i think there is a set measurement for sun strips.....2 inches rings a bell.... if the blades 'look' too small some will sus it and youll still get a fail....normally about an inch shorter...more than that and some get picky.... some places are fairer than others..some stick to the balck and white of the manual...others look for safety defects rather than cosmetic stuff Jam |
