hi im new to fords, had vauxhalls for last few years and was just wondering if i could fit the suspension from something like an xr2i onto my si, and would this atually help it handle better in any way.

The Si is the final stage of the Mk3's development and hence is pretty much as good as it gets. There is no OEM replacement that would increase the performance of your Si :insanity:

Your suspension is roughly the same as the RS1800's (Post Jan '94) so if it's on an RS you know it's not shonky.

I'd say Spax if you want springs and shocks. I'm not sure if Eibach do a 40mm drop for the mk3/mk3.5 if you just want springs. PI and Gmax are the cheaper springs you can buy but the quality isn't the best.

Saying that i've heard no real complaints about them...

I would reccomend the full spax kits, very good kits and good value, eibach are very good springs too.

I'm going with Eibach springs, as even though it's only 30mm drop for the Mk4 Fiesta, they are expertly designed to work fully with the standard shocks so no excessive wear and hopefuly they will minimise tyre wear compared to other springs on the same drop.
